spot on spot on and spot on......

this site works and has worked so well because of self moderation..... its up to all of us to moderate are own posts and comments....... the problem is when people stop talking facts and talk trash..... that is not clever and not wanted hear.......

remember from day one of fsp manufacturers were and are welcome hear and can even have there own section... moderated by them....... this stops random talk on the main forum and leaves the manufacturer to deal chat and listen and take stock of feed back....

The bigger problem uncovered was manufacturers using their influence and muscle to restrict any negative comments made about their products in public.

Or "company groupies" quickly posting loving threads in response to threads criticizing certain products performance.

If a person is witness to product failing/disappointing, there should be no problem stating that in a forum.

Ideal response would be company publicly defending/explaining it's product performance.

Individuals embarking on company hate campaign is trash, so are groupie "I love Company A" threads, in response to critical posts.

lev we do have that hear, manufactures can get there own sub forum, this is moderated by them, so one can take what is said about an item with an open eye.... knowing it could be biased towards it........ that way how can a manufacturer then try to sue this site for liable if they can be apart of it and moderate the content in there section....

OK.

If a product goes bang or performs poorly at a public event, we'll see how it is handled this time.

As TweeterBox said in another thread, Roots sound dudes would want to know if an amp being played during a session,
failed, how it failed and why. This would most likely be posted in Roots & Culture, not manufacturer forum.

Poster/Forum shouldn't be afraid of being sued for reporting the event, nor should Manufacturer have the right/power
to threaten forum to remove the post. Don't think manufacturers realise the unseen damage done to their reputation
when this is seen to be done.

lev i agree, but if there is a dedicated sub section for a particular manufacturer, it would be rude not to ask the question there...... but if there is no subsection then yes but keep to the facts and not slander.... simples...... no one will ever get in trouble for telling the truth about a substandard product.......

Exactly why "R&C Rules & Regulations" were made known pronto. smiley2

Forum members choose to publish critical posts in Manufacturer section or other.

Roots sound dudes, it would most likely be in Events & Ting or R&C.
