Greatfull Deads' system was created by tony.a.s.s.
There have been a few pictures of this system that people have seen, and I was looking at the amp section covering the big amp. On the right hand side of the page are refs. to other subjects. The Greatfull Deads' system is on of them. You can see the guys who designed and built and there is text from an interview talking about the creation of the system. It's worth a look.

Have you got a link?

Think I know someone who used to work with them, maybe even used to engineer them but my brain is failing me as to whether I'm thinking of the right person/band combo.

Don't forget this was an American band with an american crew. If you read the post about the amp and use the link that gives you info on the amp, to the right of that is a list of other stuff. One of them is about the system.

Im particularly interested in the way they supressed feedback problems using what looks like out of phase pairs of b&k condensers - could that actually work without producion a very weird sound? I guess it must have done on some level as the system would have been unusable if not.
they must have used a similar technique on all live mics.

so has anyone tried this - in the conference market where i frequentlysee 12 lavelier mics roaming around, a feedback free system would be a godsend.
