Tony.A.S.S. wrote: Well, it's an interesting take on a labyrinth concept. If it sounds good then I guess everything must be in phase. Was it easy to calculate the length of horn so that the rear would be in phase with the front at the exit point?

Tony, please could you clarify a bit..... How can be in phase the rear load with the front load with different horn lenght?
thanks, bitzo

Looks veeery interesting. One problem though, how do you get those braces in? Planning to do one myself and hear how it sounds. What's the recommended driver for this monster? How many sheets of 18mm panel did you use?

Bitzo, If you imagin cone movement going back and forth, the ideal situation is when, through its length, the rear waves come to front through the horn as the cone is moving forward. When this happens you can consider everthing to be in phase. The worst situation would be, the waves coming through to the front as the cone moves back. This would then be out of phase, and you would cancel bass. I hope that's clear enough

Peace and goodwill to all speaker builders

You will have to dry assemble many times to work it out.
I was only building a prototype and I have a Spotnails staple gun, so lots of staples at angles in this build!
It's a proper jigsaw puzzle.
Put some braces off centre.

Surely the front and rear of the cab will only be "in phase" at one specific frequency.
