new zealand so far...

right i'l kick off what some may find an interesting topic...

A some may or may not know, i've recently relocated to new zealand for various reasons. Don't have any work yet and struggling to find any. However, my experience so far of pa over here is as follows:

- Very little soundsystem culture. I met one guy who has put together a small rig to do outdoor parties but it seems like the only pa systems people use are hired from professional audio companies.
- No diy speakerbuilding seen so far
- JBL, mackie, old flashlight and martin audio are very popular, almost dominating. I've also seen some other system which i don't recognise but sounds good. front loaded i think.

So I met a guy who operates a big workshop and i'm thinking about putting my free time to use by designing and building some speakers. However, I don't really have the money so I'm trying to find out if anyone would buy them first. I'm missing the bass

Small population but wicked music scene I feel that it needs an injection of soundsystem culture!
