First Build? was created by cougard
Hi all

I've got a few sheets of 18mm ply in the shed and I'm itching to build something.

I currently have a pair of Ultrawave B300 which we use for the occasional small house party. I am hoping to start a small local night soon which will be playing breaks and hip hop.

I'm thinking that I should build a couple of subs to sit under the B300 to start out? Then build some new mid/tops and relegate the B300 to DJ monitor duty. What do you guys think?

Welcome to the forum !

You have plenty of options regarding sub enclosures, you decision has to be based on:

-future upgrades: will you go for a two way bass (sub+kick)

-ease of build (consider simonr 1x18 or X1)

-size

-costs

But first a few questions:

Will you be playing outdoor ? What crowd size? What amplifier(s) are you using?

You will also have to consider signal processing in order to use subs with you existing boxes.

Having had a look through the forums I am thinking of a 4 way system.

Starting off with a pair of X1 and putting the B300 on top.

Then build some mid tops and finishing with 4 hd15.

It will mainly be for inside use with the occasional outside gig. Not many people to start with (100) but would like to end up with a system that I can keep building and expanding.

Cost does matter but I would rather spend money building a few quality cabs and expand it over time as money becomes available.I don't want to build a ton of rubbish boxes.

As for amps and processing gear, I will let the speakers dictate what's needed.
