Which speaker cables?

Looking into replacing my speaker cables. Only needs to be 2 core.

Anybody got any good tips and cheap stockists?

I use 4mm on bass.
the rest is all on 2.5mm.

Get the best you can afford!
it may be worth looking into 4core, atleast for mid tops, that way you can link them all up and only have one cable run to them. Quicker and Neater.

Last lot of 2.5mm i bought cost me 30p a metre for Klotz. But that was From robbo cos the reel had broken. Worth giving him a shout though as he may have more.

i use van damme 4mm on bass, as again i got aload cheap (my mate works at maplin, and they discontinued it, got 2 reels of mic cable, and the speaker cable for £20!)

I think there are a lot of good cables these days, and it all seems pretty competitive. For a long time I used Van Damm. But now I think that anything from Proel Adam Hall Klotz etc will be fine. By the way, did you know that Thomas Klotz started out making boxes in Germany. I knew him then. He tried to compete with Martin Audio, and I remember them having a heated discussion once at Frankfurt. Thomas started to move into electronics and then all of a sudden it was cable where he seems to found his thing.

pcp for 4 core 4 mm then? need to buy a bucketload to replace my 2*2.5 mm system (yep you heard right 2 2.5mm cables in each hole on the speakon)

Has anyone bought any of the 50M reels from Thomann? Wondering what the flexibility is like.

So, was there a recommendation for the best supplier of budget 2/4 core 2.5mm2/4mm2 in the UK?

I heard there is a place Near Wembley/A406 in NW London called Studio Spares. Haven't been there, but they were recommended to me by number of different people.
