10\" guitar speaker

Can anyone recommend a 10" guitar speaker? I've just bought a Laney LC15R on fleabay but apparently the Celestion Tube 10 speaker isn't up to much.

Hi Mark, I think any Fane, Celestion or Eminence could fit the bill. They all make popular speakers that are used on mass. They also make their own vintage speakers with alnico magnets if your loose change is rattling around in your pocket
When I was doing Heartwood guitars, the best speaker I ever cane across was the Fane Maduca , no longer made of course. I don't think you would have to pay much money for a new eminence, these would a safe bet, Fender use bucket loads of them, but you probably already know that.

Ger, Thanks for the offer but have had to send the amp back. The guy took 2 weeks to send it, then when it arrived the reverb didn't work. First time in ages that I've bought a bummer off e-bay, but the guy has refunded me.

I had actually already bought a Fane 10" which was supposedly a specialist driver. Apparently they designed it as a replacement for EVs in the old Peterson amp. I guess I'll look for another LC15Edited by: markie

Peterson, I had forgotten about them. That was a long while ago. Do you remember Maine? We used to build the cabs. So many individuals have come and gone over the years.
