These days you can sell anything if you can make out it's "green" and "environmentally friendly". That way people will hand over good money because they think they're "doing their bit" (in reality, just buying the moral high ground).

Anyway, how would you design an environmentally friendly loudspeaker? Probably can't use wood (rainforests) andprobably needs high sensitivity (saving energy). Also consider disposal and noise pollution...

wood should be fine, birch (i think) is sustainable. it's not quite teak.

lightweight to reduce transportation costs, availability of spares for repair of components and sensitivity should do it.

Like a lot of people here. Do a virtual one, and keep it in cyber space. I'm sure there is a program for a virtual gig. You wouldn't have to waste energy by going out at all. You would be less hungry so eat less. Less water needed to flush the toilet and so on. Saved the planet in one foul swoop.

Tony, using acomputer and putting agig in cyberspace still has the problem of hosting, using computer etc which again affects the amount of coal used in power stations blah blah....
If everyone simply imagined they were listening to real music, and kept all of it in their brains, it would take less energy from the earth. No humming allowed or taspping of feet - you'll use up more energy than usual.

Nah seriously, a bamboo bass bin would be a great hit with those sorts of people.

Build the (already recyclable blah blah) woofers into cupboards. Now where have I seen that idea before?

I had a feeling this thread would go this way. I hope no one was expecting seriousness to take place.
