3d printing

what do you guys think, very tempted to purchase one this year....

I think, like any other traditional printer, a major question would be consumables costs. Most 3d Printers of this scale are around the £500+VAT ball park, so what type of plastics they can melt may be an important consideration.

CPC (farnell) had some nice ones too.

Definitely time to consider them. Stupidly cheap, for what they can do. Phase pluggery per chance?

lol, not just bungs but a hole host of prototyping, hf horns ect....

Very small build size on that unit Bee. 150 x 150 x 140

That would mean you have to make many small sections and glue them together. Hope you like jig saw puzzles.

When I do say a 600 x 400 horn with a 3d printer, that has to be done in 2 sections, and each section takes 3 days to print, and the machine costs 500,000 USD.

It is the way forward, but as yet I can still knock out a prototype in my conventional way just as quick and for a lot less $$$.

very true on unit size, dam.... I got a few ideas I would like to play with, guess ill do it the old way, wood and sandpaper lol...

Playing around with a 2" and 1" horn, just taking forever to re make a tweek each time ive tested.
