The Lab horn is DIY with heat sinks. The question is, under what circumstance does a heat sink become necessary?
I used to dj at a club that had a couple B52's, and used to spank the piss out of them for 5 hours straight and the heat sink wouldn't even get slighty warm.

What heat sinks does a Lab horn have? has alloy access panels that's about it.

Proper heatsinks are attached to the driver magnet

Does a car drive well without water?

Does a marathon man run well when he's hot?

I apologize. It is the metal access panels to which I am referring.

Nowhere near as good as a heatsink attached to the magnet. Standard Lab horn is just a alloy door and the heat will have to 'jump' :P across to the panel.

K1 you can put your hand on the access panel and feel it getting warm :)

Would the 1850 horn benefit from having a alloy door for instance?

Quite a lot of space in a 1850 horn chamber. Heat sinks are generally used in tight chambers with little air space, EG Punisher Lab etc

I see. Makes sense. So are the Cerwin Vegas/ B52's just playing it on the 'safe side' with their alloy doors then?
