Because they're DIYReality Sound wrote: When or how do you determine when a heat sink is necessary in a cab? All the newer CV cabs, B52's, and LAB horn use heat sinks, why not the 1850/186 horn for instance?

I used to dj at a club that had a couple B52's, and used to spank the piss out of them for 5 hours straight and the heat sink wouldn't even get slighty warm.

Nowhere near as good as a heatsink attached to the magnet. Standard Lab horn is just a alloy door and the heat will have to 'jump' across to the panel.Reality Sound wrote: I apologize. It is the metal access panels to which I am referring.
K1 you can put your hand on the access panel and feel it getting warm

Quite a lot of space in a 1850 horn chamber. Heat sinks are generally used in tight chambers with little air space, EG Punisher Lab etcReality Sound wrote: Would the 1850 horn benefit from having a alloy door for instance?
