hi i have a few questions


1,are 2 of these good enough to cover 3 ohm trs 218s



2,what is a good second hand price for them



3,on the website it say lf 400-550w @4 oms,mf-hf 200-550w @4ohms.but then says the nominal impedance is lf 8ohm and the ml-hf 8ohms.what would i be running them at so i can make a decision what amp to use

These are the install versions of the Wavefront 3 cabinets. They sound pretty good, dedicated midrange always helps.

It depends on what music you're playing but I don't think two is quite enough for three twin 18's. You should probably be looking at more of a 1:1 ratio. Are you looking to buy two for a mono stack or four for two stacks each of 3 218's?

The LF (15") is 8Ohms and the Mid-High is 16Ohms. They have given the recommended amplifiers at 4Ohms because that's how most amps are rated.

Personally if you were running two in parallel I would say you need around 1200W@4R for the low end. For the mid-high I would use a larger amp than they specify because it's best to have plenty of headroom on the mid-high. One way to do it is run the lows on Ch.A and the mid-high on Ch.B of the same amp.

I can't help you much on price I'm afraid.

Given that they're on 'best offer' I suspect he's expecting to take a little less. Last ones I saw advertised were for £500+VAT so essentially the same price but it's worth haggling.
