Just noticed you mentioned x/o at 90hz. If you have sub bass, you must have bass, and when you use this way, make sure you overlap the sub with the bass and time align them.

I'm starting to think about this issue from another point of view. The bass in roots reggae comes mostly from guitar bass, bass drum, so what is the higher note played by a bass guitar? No effect or other filters....
or Is it pointless have all the bass coming from one cab type?
