That's not a transmission line.

That's a Hi-Fi rear-loaded horn (no, them hi-fi folks don't use scoops).
They usually fit fullrange drivers by the likes of Fostex, E J Jordan,
Coral and Lowther, all of which are small 5-8 inch things that sound
absolutely beautiful at home. That looks to me like a Fostex
reccomended design, or some other one. Note the stepped bottom - these
cabs are usually ridiculously heavy and stable, kind of like compressed
ASS cabs.

It's good to see that a bit of thought went into that box. I would guess that the extra bits on the ends of the panels are to help stop the flexing as the panels terminate in free air.

Does the slight flair at the end of the "horn" make it a rear loaded horn rather than a TL then?

Ad, That cab seems to have a graduated expansion. That would make it a horn whereas a TL cab has parallel sides which remain the same from the throat to the final exit.

Adam, I remembered (though I don't usually like to dig up old topics) that actually, horns like this actually act like tlines and horns at the same time (well, at different frequencies but the effect is still there), they are usually designed by mathcad.

Shouldnt all this be in an "Obscure Hifi" sort of forum?

No one here is gonna build these for use in a rig, so to me, it seems a bit pointless having it here.
