Hi RS

Nice to see that you are getting started with the measurements.
Could you describe your measurement setup and procedure in detail?
How long were the distance from the nearest object to the cab being measured?
What type of ground/floor was the speaker placed on during the measurement.
How was the RTA mic set up, and what model was used?

You really need to get started making proper sine sweeps. ;) Have you had a look at REW?

Ahhh, well the mic was 2 M from the cab, the mic was lying on the ground. RTA mic is a Behringer ECM8000. I used REW. Measurement were taken outside on concrete floor. Minor surroundingJust set a voltage at 50hz (2.75ish) then took spl measurements in 5hz intervals from 30- 125.
Looking to source a decent voltmeter. I am not confident in my ability to take accurate sine sweep measurements. maybe you can explain it to me over on the 'measuring subs' thread.
Thanks,

Well, in REW you just press the button "Measure" and then "Start measurement".
Many times easier and better resolution than manually during 5Hz interval measurements. ;)

I just quickly downloaded REW, haven't really had the time to poke with it. Bare with me.....

That was quick :)

You can try to play with it by measuring you pc speakers or something like that. It is very easy to use.

Thought maybe the 'tapped horn side' of the design got thrown off a bit. There is one alteration I want to try before I abandon the project. We will see......

Well there is only so much alterations one can do without completely building another cab, and I just can't be bothered right now. Stipe was assisting me initially, but has been 'off grid' now for months. So I'm moving on with other projects for now. Don't get me wrong, this cab is loud and goes low with ease, but if its barely an improvement over the original then whats the point? :S

I don't think you should be making definite conclusions before you are able to make more refined measurements.
