as I said in my first post, you can use bigger driver with simpler layout and more compact cabs. But the challenge to me is using a 12" to drop to a dubby frequency using scoopy layout. Plus I already modeled and listened my 18" scoop design ;)

I understand Bitzo, experimenting does often reveal new techniques.

Guess I did all my experimenting with 12" drivers whilst at school.. <The joys of 2x12" reflex cab + 32Hz band on graphic eq smiley2 >

Hi all,
see the first post for update about the first drawing.

However I put pinch of hoggy flavour and reduced the width to 37.6 (originally was 48.6). So check this out

looking good try shortening the driver back baffle and adding a 45 degree angle to the start of the horn, this should keep the throat entry the same, but improve airflow through the first part of the horn.......

36mm front panel is a must, allso a 36mm back panel helps too, it wont effect the sim, but adds less colouration to the sound...... think on the lines of the pressure in the back chamber will have the same force on the front baffle as the rear...... 36mm for both will help reduce panel resonance....

to me the true weakpoint is the compression ratio, 1:5.76 gives a lot pressure for sure but...I'm not sure about its musicality.

you want it tight to be able to control the driver and not let it flap, but too small and you will loose alot of spl......

Here's the drawing and sim with bee's suggestion. The external dimension now are (dxwxh) 73.7x37.6x94, compression chamber volume corrected and braced mouth just in case. ;)

its good to see that it plotted the same, but the sound coming out should be warmer in tone, with a better actual spl.... have you adjusted angle of driver and height in your sim......

and can you adjust the plott to 70db to 110db, so i can see how big the dip between the low and high point of plott is.....
