Laminating ply or increasing the cab dimensions?

cut out the two panels and insert new ones, no change in cab size.....

Could always put Void V1000's in, tried and tested, but then they would have to be constantly available, along with their re-cones. Not happened yet.

1. The cab is already built and finished
2. The intention is to use PD 1850

Have said for years on SP, Superscooper is one of the worst scoops for 1850/186, and Eminence scoop is probably the best for them.

Now people are beginning to see this, and the last Bristol Reggae Clash clearly illustrated this.

Have heard modified Supers (modded design)with PD1850s, and it sounded very presentable, however person didnt reveal the mod's.
The Same with Turbomax 1000. So the design can sound very good, with changes to chamber/horn throat, before build.

In your opinion what kind of driver can work good in supers? I mean just regarding T/S parameters, but if you have experience of good sound driver for this scoop...is much better.

Standard Design sounds great with:Void V18-1000, Fane 18XB, Wembley Bline 800, B&C 18TBX100.

Have heard Modded Design with:PD1850, awesome.. Fully extracted max 1850 performance.

Was told Modded Design sounds thunderous with:Turbomax 1000/Fane 1000.

Would guess simple design mod would be to change Dogleg as following,

Mucho compression, (45 degree below driver baffle possibly needs elevating for compression adjustment)

Approx figures
front baffle length 52.3cm
chamber=68L (52.3x60x20.2 + bit below rear vaffle) not inc driver,
S1=750cm2,
S2=3966cm2 ((118.4-52.3)*60) Would prefer 4200cm2 really,
Horn length=195-200cm
expansion rate approx 0.6 !?

"Possibly" suitable for PD1850, PD186, V18-1000, Fane 18XB, Fane 1000, Fane 1500, Wembley Bline 800, B&C 18TBX100, Celestion 18FTR HDX ?

Slight additions could possibly make it suitable for V18-1200, Turbomax.

More experience of listening to various driver cab/combinations, than just matching T/S parms.
Hornresp says PD1850, V18-1200 and Turbomax 1200 would be great in Standard scooper, but that is load of nonsense.

Is more to do with matching scoop throat compression ratio to driver. Maybe drivers not designed to move much prefer tighter chamber/compression ratio.

V18-1000 Will work in any scoop, small or large chamber, tight or loose compression, Fane 18XB is same, but will exceed excursion very quickly in medium to large chambers at high power.
