Hi CUBO,
Good day!
My name is Jury and I'm from Philippines. I'm a big fan of your Cubo cabs designs but I haven't tried it yet because I have lots of hesitations if I use (3/4inch) / 19.05mm thick plywood.
Is it okay with you if I ask a Cut List Dimensions for (3/4inch) / 19.05mm plywood?
Jury

In
this
post Jim Smith asked a similar question but for 18 mm material instead. So a same styled answer:
If I understand correctly, you want to build Cubo 12 with a minimum change to both the horn and chamber volume, utilising 19.05 mm material?
In that case the overal height should increase 4.05 mm for every panel it meets from bottom to top (5 panels) = 47.025 [47.0] cm.
The overall depth (3 panels) = 49.215 [49.2] cm. The overall width (2 panels, ignoring the bracing) = 45.81 [45.8] cm
Top panel/ground panel; 49.2 x 42 cm (I ussually make these panels few mm longer and cut them to size after the build)
Side panel left/right; 49.2 x 47 cm (I ussually make these panels few mm longer and wider and cut them to size after the build)
Rear panel; 43.2 x 42 cm
Front panel; 18.6 x 42 cm
Baffle; 32.5 x 42 cm
First horn panel; 30.8 x 42 cm
Second (angled) horn panel; 13.95 x 42 cm (same)
All Bracing: + 3 mm or the same
Tell me, if I have made a mistake.
Best regards
Cubo

Thank you so much for your reply Cubo!
I already draw it in AutoCAD. Now I'm ready to make one.
One more thing. I have problems with the drivers.
Is it okay that I will use a car sub woofer speakers from JBL?
Here is the Sub Speaker:

That's not the most suitable driver out there. It will work but it might snoop some Hertz of the low frequency extension.
Suitable drivers have high Fs, low to medium Qts, low to medium Vas. This driver has low Fs, medium to high Qts and medium Vas. It's more suitable for use in Cubo 12 Mod.
Best regards
Cubo

smiley1 Hi, and a happy new year to all,
a little update about my Cubo12 pd12sb30 loaded :
now that I reversed the driver with magnet in horn AND bought a proper dsp, I have to say that my Cubo just plays MUCH better than I thought it would after my first tests smiley20 !
(before that I had no high passfilter, a high cut @100hz and no eq)
So, as a newbie in the art of equ-ing, I'd love to ask a few questions :
-after reading the frequency response plot and a bit of litterature about equing :geek: , I went to try to flatten this steep drop under 50hz.
The setting I went for (for now) is :
hpf=40hz lpf=110
eq: 40hz +8db with q factor
BUT,
after further studying smiley23 and being advised that +8 is a lot of correction and might still be a danger to the speaker at high level, I thought maybe it would be safer to eq just +1db at 52hz with q=2?
would it ...or what would be the best eq setting to get the most between 40and 50hz?

Good Day CUBO,
I am from Canada and have been reading about your Cubo designs smiley20
Would like to build Cubo 12 using a driver that I already own.
Specs are as follows:
Re: 5.3 ohms
Fs: 24.8 Hz
Le: 3.44 mh
Mms: 97.81 g
Qm: 8.14
Cms: 418.47 mm/n
Qe: 0.331
Rms: 1.88 Ns/m
Qt: 0.318
Vas: 164.3 l
Xmax: 4.20 mm
Sd: 0.053 cm sq
BL: 15.18 Tm
EBP: 75.00
EFF: 1.92 %
SPL: 91 db
Please advise if suitable for Cubo 12 and if not would there be another design recommended for use of this subwoofer driver?
Thanks,
Gil

It will work in Cubo 12 but will emphasize on the 63 Hz loudness (and above) likely. A smoother response with more depth is possible in Cubo 12 Mod (52.5 x 35 x 52.5 cm, HxWxD). For the latter please send an e-mail to questionsaboutcuboatgmaildotcom.
