Hi guys, im in the middle of building a pair of these and have discovered my Delta12 drivers are too deep so don't fit in the rear chamber.

will I be ok to create a hole in the back panel for the magnet to poke out of as long as its sealed?

...are these are all the correct dimensions?

just asking as there should be about 13.6cm of depth in that chamber and the delta12 is only 13.6cm deep, the second layer of the baffle that keeps the cone from hitting the 1st slot baffle should only be 1cm deep too.

if it was all made to plan the back of the magnet should be flat against the back of the chamber.

...so if my maths is right the very front of the baffle should be 18mm(slot baffle) +10mm(gasket baffle)+ 136mm(internal chamber) +18mm(back panel) from the back of the bace panel of the box.

unless your building the 10" version and trying to stick 12" drivers in it....

to be truly honest, im not sure what ive done, the plans i printed werent clear, so it was likely a wrong number ive read..

edit*
i read the 136mm to be the rear side of the baffle, and ive just reopened the file and discovered that i need to move the baffle forwards. problem there is i have already glued the horn section in place.... dammit.

my biggest Q is wether or not the woofer will act normally with the magnet outside the chamber. (good for cooling tho) as its vented coil. i was thinking i could cut a neat hole, and put a seal around the magnet so the chamber stays sealed.

it would have to be a damn tight seal if you did...... for what its worth, just re-cut the bits you fecked up and build it properly. you'll kick yourself if you dont!

yeh, kinda cant rebuild. i need them ready for NYE. im going to just finish the horn side and ill rebuild them after. im sure a slight loss around the 100hz wont be noticable as ive upgraded from a reflex cab which simulated 6db less on hornresp than the MT130 anyway.

also, on that note, if they sound good open, ill just leave them that way.

ill post up with pics and my experience soon.

sorry, and what about the wood thickness? is the same thickness for all? im thinking about use 18mm except for the A and B pieces, what u think about use 15mm for all instead of 18mm?

seeing the photos it looks like is 15mm all...
Thanks!
