this "miniscoop" will not perform any worse without wadding (once when someone build some ) than proven good design smiley2
..but this was way it is just a bit more forgiving at slight misetup and will sound a bit more Hi-Fi when used on non PA situations (small power) because some upper resonances are attenuated before entering horn and interfering with front cone radiation.

I have experimented with in 15" MicrosScoopes and at that fine touch with a bit of wadding is noticeable (have compared two sets of 4 in stack). Completely identical drivers and wood .. at most music it is not noticeable at all but at some very delicate gigs I liked more sound from "wadded" stack.

point is same and will do same thing at good smiley2 and bad designs ..try it you will see :angel:

Scoops and mini scoops have their own sound. Mainly use for reggae due to the massive sub content, now dubstep etc also have this.
Techno: Definatly not, build lots of ES18-BPH IMHO
