PD.1550 in a 60L box. was created by needlefx
Hi.

I'm trying to find out if would work to fit a Precision-devices PD.1550 in a 60L reflex vented box. In spite of the recommended enclosure being 80-200L

My questions are:

Would the cone rip apart?

If doesn't.

What kind of reductions in power and quality of sound i'll suffer?

Should I increase the crossover point in order to protect the speaker ( makes any sense?? ) ?

If so

what is the recommended xover point?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What do you want the box to do?

I'd like to get as much as I can from them ( not a lot eh!? ).

Basically use it from 40/45hz-110/150hz as loud as I can without damaging the speaker.

Tuning it to 60hz gives -3b and fairly flat there on up. 60l internel. Single round port 102mm dia 48.8mm deep.
Change the port lenth to 88.3mm length for -5db @ 50hz

Trying to tune lower gets crap.

The above is 60l INTERNAL volume in WinISD

Ripping the cone? This is LESS likley in a smaller box due to damping.

What do you think about the Beyma 15G40 instead? Good contender?

Thanks for your time.
