PD.1852 was created by ikabod88
Hi,
Just a query regarding one of my PD.1852 (new/unused).
The magnet's inner and outer cover/plate have these heavy pittinga all over and the suspension's coating is a bit jellyish, felt damp and looks like it's peeling off.

Are these of major concern?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The bits on the suspension are a silicon doping material used to control the weight and resonance, this is normal and used by many manufacturers.

The plating on the driver appears to have started peeling off, this is just cosmetic and wont affect the performance, but looking at the date of manufacture (31-05-13) it does look these have been in storage for a while, and possibly had very slight exposure to damp which has affected the surface of the metal slightly.

This is the sort of thing that would normally happen anyway over time.

Hi Andy,
Thank you so much for responding on my query, appreciated.

I also did sent an email to PD yesterday and quickly i got a reply from Ms/Mrs. Paula Barnes, asking me to fill up a complaint form which was sent to PD Technical department. Today, I received the reply from the Technical guy named Fouda, and you know what? what you've mentioned here were exactly the same information
as his, you probably have many years of experience about loudspeakers. :)

I was right in choosing Precision Device, excellent after sales support!

Again, thank you Andy and to PD people, Paula and Fouda.
