OK, will let people find out on their own, what happens when you mix weak motor (BL=22.4) with Vas=257, and poor efficiency (Qes=0.404), and try to run it with more than 900W. (power handling 1200W  )

Wink to say I told you so in advance.. smiley2

Not sure whether the intension was to build an 1850 or 51 beater. A lot of people will be hoping so because it's cheaper. I think they've just put anther good speaker on top of their standard range.
If you think about it, it would be too soon to make the big guns redundant, especially if they still have sales.

EDIT:Since PD lost the 1850 designer, and Fane lost RMJ, well...

Maybe all Fane production is being moved to China ?

I think all Fane production is in China. I thought it was only PD that was done up North.

Have lost count how many times in the last 5 years, a driver comes out, people say it looks like it will kill 1850, and it turns out to average..

Can assure this XS compared to 1850 will be the same..

Parameters clearly show it will sound bit like PD186, but need more power to get same output..
Do we need another driver like this ?

I guess when chief designer leaves a company, its time to go round in circles, till new talent comes in..

Also EBP of this "XS" is well below 100, qts=0.385, so dont expect it too last too long or be that impressive in scoops..

Think I'll stop now.. :-D
