Fane 2x12 Horn Questions

Found these cab plans at hornplans. I have a few questions about them.
2x ES18BPH and 2x 18 Reflex is my low end
Right now i have a pair of 15"+1" Midtops, looking to add 2x12 mid tops as well
1. Can these be used with 1" or 2" to cross over at the top, or would i need another cab for mid high
2. What do you think about flattening this cab ( as i roughly drew out in the second picture), and how short could i make it without serious compromise.
I know after all that it looks like the mid tops by rog (speakerplans), but the cutting and assembly seems easier with this example
some feedback would be helpful
Mike

I have noticed that you cant find any specs along with most of these drawings.
I no very little about horns (even less about these programs you guys use)
I am looking for a somewhat compact 2x12 mid high or 1x 12 mid ( i can add HF seperate if needed) thought this might be my ticket. Trying to find something to match up to my low end

I'e often looked at those cabs, seen them in use on top of Martin 115 years ago.
Didn't Mega do something similar to this?

If you want a 2x12" midtop go for the staipe simple midtop 212. Really easy to build, great and smooth extension, I make 4 single version, really light and compact. And can sit perfectly on esbph.

go for a single version 37 cm is not so tall....MAutopsy wrote: bitzo, ive been looking into that, SMT 212, as it is my next option. You say you have built them as single, i think i just saw a picture of that the other day. those smt212 end up being to tall for what i was looking for. ......
