Mid-Top 2x10"+1x1"

Hi, we're looking for mid-top plans matching for our stack.
As you can see, we have 6 superscoopers (4 loaded with PD1850), 4 cubo kick - loaded with beyma 15G40. Now it's time to upgrade mid-tops. As said in topic, we want build 4 cabinets with two 10" drivers and one driver which will be a selenium d220ti, because we already have them.
Is there any good plan tested in action matching for that description?

Have you considered the MT102's or do you want direct radiators? Out of interests, how do the Cubo Kicks fair?

Firstly we want to thank you for well made plan Cubo Kick. It plays very nice and that feeling of pressure on chest is more than we expected. We made them with 15mm birch ply and loaded with Beyma 15G40.

We considered the MT102, but we're looking for something smaller. It will be logistic problem if we build such big cabinet. And we don't want build direct radiators again, horn type midtops will match for our stack.

To keep up with such a stack, you would be looking at 4 horn loaded 10" in pretty much any case. So only 2 horn loaded 10" would be considered the limiting factor of the system and give a very bass heavy rig. Two MT102 stacked side by side would be good for a mono rig. Also the MT102 seems one of the few 10" horn loaded designs out there.

To get down to 200 Hz with a 10" you will need a horn with the dimensions of the MT102 anyway (it isn't big for what it does). So if you want it smaller, it needs to compromise either it's output or needs a higher crossover, a different size drivers or all combined. If you're handy with glass fibre, epoxy or complicated wood work and such, I would suggest cooking up something custom sized.

I can help you fit each 10" into a cabinet of roughly 45 x 62 x 62 cm (HxWxD), however you would still need 2 next to each other and preferably four cabinets (plus horns for 1 - 1.6 kHz and up).
