Sound Absorption Panels was created by tony.a.s.s.
These Sound Absorption Panels were last used at a HI FI show I did some while ago. We made them to hang on a picture rail. The fixings can be taken off and the panels can be glued directly to a wall.
The original idea came from the panels in our sound room. These panels were fixed to wooden frames and glued directly to the plaster board.
These panels work exceptionally well in providing a non reflective room.
Four stands were also made to hang panels in front of windows.
Details as follows:- 29 off Large panels 100 x 50 x 8 cm. 29 off Small panels 50 x 50 x 8 cm.
Pine frames machined on sides for better absorption. Rock silk covered in calico
large panels £10.00 ea. Small panels £5.00 ea. Frames £20.00 ea.

make your own smiley20

Ingredients...
1. mould, (a funky shape would be better than flat, unless you did some raised and some shallow)
2. old newspapers
3. large bucket
4. PVA
5. water
6. drill with a mixer/whisk attached

mix the PVA with the water, then add the old newspapers and stir, you can tell when the stirring is ready when the newspapers go a dark grey mush/pulp
fill the molds with the pulp and press firmly, then turn upside down on a surface that is flat and the water can drain a away from beneath

they end up looking like the ceiling tiles you see in office blocks or hospitals, a nice grainy veiny texture

I'll take a picture of one

all that's left is a paint job, although you might like the dark grey colour

cost pennies and only your time

Hey mykey, your method sounds like it is better suited to diffusion rather than absorbtion.

I was thinking of bulding some of these myself but there is no way you could build these traps for anywhere near the price Tony is asking, I really like the wooden frames too.
The build quality looks pretty spot on from the pictures too.

Yes, they went to the person they were reserved for. These are easy enough to make if you want to.
