Speakerplans was a brilliant bit of marketing in it's day. It put certain people on the map, commercially as well.
This forums response to SP not liking anyone elses commercial success is a lesson in ethics to one and all.
Great stuff. smiley27

Yes, SP is also a great learning/networking tool, but will never have the potential of FSP. Why, because FSP is independent, and unbiased people are able to post objectively about a manufacturer's product, without fear of "Forum Gestapo" coming after them.

On SP, what you can say, all depends on who you are, as opposed to what you are saying... Which can't be right...
When more of the R&C people migrate over here, the Amp/driver/Scoop debates will be hot, but people won't be afraid to say they don't like the sound of Driver A or Amp maker B, because they are in with the forum owner.
Have spoken to number of people out there with "certain" Amps blowing/blowing their drivers, or they have witnessed it happen, but they would never mention it on SP, due to fear of being ostricised.

"Allegedly", quite a few people have been having problems with a certain very high powered, purportedly "UK" made torroidial amp, blowing or blowing their drivers, even when only operated in 4/8 ohm stereo.
Has even caused some to sell their amps before anything happens. Maybe some of the owners would like to comment.
