scoops

hey, i'm using six scoops on a qsc 5050 but not getting any good response. thinking of trying the usb cause its the only one recommending eminence drivers (which i can afford). Any advice?

Which design are your scoops, and what is exact model of your drivers ?

Some people say QSC 5050 is great sounding amp, but not very loud for the power rating.

I said exactly this last week on Speakerplans.

Can you afford Fane 18XBs? 5050 will probably drive 2x of these per channel nicely.

thanks for responding. i'm using blast king drivers. they're rated at 1250watts, 8 ohms. probaly abt 500rms. the scoops were done by a friend with his own design. they sound kinda chokey. has one inch space between the driver magnet and first wall.

Never heard of those drivers.

Amp is decent, maybe look at changing drivers for name brand, then maybe the boxes if still not good?

i was thinking rcf but they're expensive. so wat abt the eminence omega pro in the USB bin? say like four bins? will that sound better than six scoops?

Where are you located, and which drivers do you have available?

No point buying cheap drivers for soundsystems, you'll just blow them and then have to buy quality a second time.

Have you ever heard anyone else with the same scoops as yours sounding good?

What price are Fane 1000, B&C 18TBX100, Void v18-1000 in your area?

Forget RCF for scoops. If you were in UK, could recommend perfect drivers to suit your pocket, but as your not, you will probably havt to stick with Fane or B&C, unless there is a PD1850 equivalent in US.

i'm from guyana. we have RCf down here for approx. US$480. Fane for US$300. which is what the eminence difinimax goes for as well. never saw PD.

Can you get hold of Void drivers also ?

In your situation/location, "maybe" these are best drivers per $ you can get,

1. Void V18-1000
2. Fane 18-1000
3. Fane 18-1500
4. B&C 18TBX100
5. Fane 18XB

Levyte is this list in order (best to good) and u dont rate the 18 sound LW2400 as a scoop dirver???/
