Turbomax 1500 MK3 - "Iration Steppas Version"

Talking to Roy recently, and apparently this MK3 sounds even better than the Legendary Turbomax 1200 it descended from..

Seems Iration pushed RMJ until the 1500 was same in sound as the majestic 1200... Apparently he's done it...

Same sound and response as the legendary 1200I.

Heard the Turbomax 1200 long time ago (first 18" that could outplay PD1850), and also heard the Turbomax 1500 Mk1.

Heard Turbomax 1200 in Marlon Mk1 medium chamber scoop, and is massive.

Heard Turbomax 1500Mk1 and did not sound as good as Tmax 1200 in same Mini scoop (not shortman)

Also heard Tmax 1200 in shortman mini which has "huge" chamber, and that will outplay many full scoops (given enough power)... smiley36
However the shortman mini has some naughty compression, so that was more box than driver.

However will also blow if too much power/eq due to excursion

The large x-max and the large le value make the royal 1500 a very interesting driver in a tapped horn sim.
The large le value gives it a flat response in the pass band in a TH, and it will take stupid amounts of power.

And it may well play up high enough in a TH to meet mid tops.
There are some talented designers on here, be nice to see a sim with this driver in such an idea.

Maybe you should try simming the The Tmax in the S7 as well... smiley2

EDIT: Also, depending on cabs, these drivers need real power to get out of bed.

Matrix STR3000 in 4 ohm bridge, seems to drive 2x 1500s nicely... :shock:
