Rig build

Hi guys.

Im new to the forum. Im looking to build a system to use in and out doors, I would like to build all the cabs etc myself over the winter period saving up for bits and pieces as I go along. It would only need to be small for between 100 to 200 people playing drum and bass, techno etc. Just wondering if you guys could give some ideas on what sort of system I need, how big it needs to be, where to start from. I wont be using any of it until next year so I have plenty of time. Id love to use some USB's in there somewhere ha ha smiley20 smiley20 .

go for the cubo 18's on sub, the usb's for kick, and some reflex tops..... smiley20

Is it really helpful to have Cubo18 subs and The USBs? I'm asking because I really don't know, not to a smart aleck, btw smiley36

Where are plans for a reflex top, Ive been looking through the plans here and the other speaker plans site and dont remember seeing it.

I feel like apologizing every post for being so nub.

cubos will do sub, the usb is better at kick but can be used in multiples on there own to do sub, as for a reflex top they are very easy to design, start a new thread and ill help you, walk you through how a reflex is designed........ you can go for a horn loaded top but for 100 people these can be a bit on the loud side......

How many of each would I need on average. Would it be like 2 cubo's, 2 USB's on top then reflex tops on top of them :think:

2 cubos a side will give you plenty sub.

Ive printed off the cubo 18 plans but it says nothing about how deep you should go with the router for the the interior panels etc smiley29 . Are the measurements on the plans designed for a recess to be routed for interior panels. I dont want to get it all wrong and waste expensive wood ha ha smiley20

no the plans are all for butt jointed joins, the router depth for rebating is around 5mm, you will need to add this to the panels, 10mm in-total.

any horn loaded cab can sound honky crossed over too high..... cross it over at a lower hz.....
