bs1200 in need of some loving..... was created by bee
i thought i would post these pics up of the current cabs im working on. Both of them are in a very bad way but with a little (lot) of love will look as good as new. Im hoping to get them finished in the next few days so we can get them out gigging again by next weekend.......
This is the condition when i got them, One end on both cabs was de-laminating, due to them beinging sat in water for a long time......
The first job was to remove the end panel and see what condition the internals where in on both cabs. Good news cabs sound inside, so i set about making 4 new templates for end panel so i could fully rebate new panel.
There are a few templates needed for this end, 1 for the driver access panel, 1 for the driver access panel to bolt to, 1 for the rebating of the end panel, and one for the driver access panel cutout this took 2 days to do, due to them needing to be spot on.
Because the repairs where going to plan, i allso opted at this point to cut both bs1200's in half, and remove the centre panel.
and make up a new side panel, turning them into bs500's......
ill post more pics of the cabs when ive finished them off, ive still got to make a back plate for the speakons, and finish them off in a nice new coat of paint...... cant wait to hear these, as at one point i thought they may be too far gone to put right.......

A lot of people talk about splitting these cabs up for portability and weight, but many are put off. These pictures are great and prove that with some thought and effort it cab be done. great job.
Peace and goodwill to all speaker builders
